Sorry for the lack of updates on
the site recently, some
issues with the server, my
computer, and some time constraints
haven't allowed me to keep up
with site like I would want.
Going forward everything
should be updated on a regular basis.
Thanks.
Recently, there has been a fairly heated debate on the exact
rules regarding
the legality of certain tires and how people can find out what is legal
and what
is not. After doing quite a bit of research and speaking to a lot
of racers, here
is a clarification on the tire rules going forward:
"All tires must be OEM
type, radial, street tires. Any aftermarket tire,
regardless of DOT approval,
designed to give a competitive advantage over
factory issue, OEM type tires
is prohibited. Any tire that contains any
or all of the following
features is prohibited:
*Wrinkle side-wall
*Traction or drag compound
*Shallow tread depth designed
to mimic slick"
For the racers that are running DOT
approved tires that do
not meet the specifications of our updated tire rules, all is not lost.
Beginning Friday, September 12th, NSD will be running the
Street Rubber
Shootout
This class will be operated under all of the same rules as the FRS,
with the
exception of the new tire rules. Any DOT approved tire designed
for normal highway use, regardless of compounds or sidewalls, will be
permitted.
Assuming
we get support for both classes, we will continue to run both classes
each 2nd and 4th Friday.
We would like to thank the great folks at
Ace
Racing Transmissions
for becoming FRS's first official sponsor!!!!
